Ishay Shaer began piano studies at age seven with Mrs. Hanna Barzilai; his later studies were under Dr. Asaf Zohar, Prof. Tomer Lev and Prof. Arie Vardi. Performing at concert venues worldwide and to great critical acclaim, Ishay Shaer is considered one of the leading Israeli pianists of his generation. Touring Europe, the UK, the USA, Canada and South America, he plays recitals, at festivals and with renowned orchestras. He has won prizes in the UK, Italy, Bonn, as well as the prestigious Israeli Clairmont Prize. He has received support from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and the Swiss Orpheum Foundation.
In 2017, Shaer’s disc of late Beethoven works (Orchid Classics) met with enthusiastic reviews. In recent years, he has been establishing himself as a reputable chamber musician, performing with major artists and ensembles and garnering glowing praise in such music magazines as the BBC Music Magazine and the Codalario Magazine. His arrangement for piano trio of Beethoven’s piano sonata “The Tempest” has won him much praise.
