With their award-winning program “Classic Meets Cuba”, the Klazz Brothers and Cuba Percussion have been presenting fresh, witty arrangements in an astonishing guise of sounds to audiences worldwide, luring them into a world of passion and irresistible Cuban joie-de-vivre. In its distinctive and original sound, the ensemble’s unconventional musical language offers fresh insight into the works of Bach, Mozart, Paganini or Brahms, merging classical European tradition with swing, merengue and Afro-Cuban jazz in a truly unique way. Classical themes, brilliantly arranged as salsa, bolero or chachacha display rhythmic- and melodic diversity, with abundant space for improvisation. Referred to as “masters of classical crossover”, the Klazz Brothers have released more than 12 CDs, recently receiving the Echo Klassik and Jazz Award.
Their music can be heard in such Hollywood blockbusters as “Collateral” (Tom Cruise) and “Hitch” (Will Smith). Other programs include “Symphonic Salsa” (with symphony orchestra), “Messiah Superstar” (choir, big band, soloists), with several programs performed in collaboration with soloists such as Maria Markesini or James Morrison.
