Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny, PhD, is a graduate of the Wrocław Music Academy (choral conducting and singing). She also has a master’s degree in Biology from Wrocław University and completed post-graduate studies for choral conductors at the Bydgoszcz Music Academy. Since June 2006, she has been artistic director of the Wrocław Philharmonic Choir. Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny has been guest conductor and choir director of ensembles such as the Silesian Philharmonic Choir, the Gabrieli Consort, the Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra, the Wrocław Ricordanza Soloists Ensemble, the Wrocław Music Academy Chamber Orchestra and the Festival Choir of the International Festival Wratislavia Cantans. Her awards include 1st Prize at the 10th Polish Competition for Choral Conductors in Poznań (2014) and a special award for the best choral and vocal conducting methods. In recognition of her outstanding achievement, she received Legnica Cantat 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 and the 2005 Gaude Cantem award for the best conductor. She was also The Wroclaw Music Award laureate in 2010. In addition to her artistic work, Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny teaches conducting and vocal technique at the Music Education Department of the Wrocław Music Academy. She is also frequently engaged as a vocal coach to present workshops for choirmasters and choral ensembles.
